To satisfy the ever-increasing demand for mobile broadband communications, the IMT-Advanced (IMT-A) standards have been ratified by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in November 2010 and the fourth generation (4G) wireless communication systems are currently being deployed worldwide. The standardization for LTE Rel-12, also known as LTE-B, is also ongoing and expected to be finalized in 2014. The problem is that 5G will create millions of jobs but destroy millions more. We need a plan.

Why is the update necessary?

Nonetheless, existing wireless systems will not be able to deal with the thousand-fold increase in total mobile broadband data contributed by new applications and services such as pervasive 3D multimedia, HDTV, VoIP, gaming, e-Health, and Car2x communication. In this context, the fifth generation (5G) wireless communication technologies are expected to attain 1000 times higher mobile data volume per unit area, 10-100 times higher number of connecting devices and user data rate, 10 times the longer battery life and 5 times reduced latency. While for 4G networks the single-user average data rate is expected to be 1 Gbps, it is postulated that cell data rate of the order of 10 Gbps will be a key attribute of 5G networks.

Does 5G create jobs?

Automation is driving the decline of banal and repetitive tasks. So the jobs of the future are increasingly likely to be those that need human sensibilities, with personal relationships, qualitative judgement and creativity coming to the fore.” Let’s face it, personal relationships, qualitative judgement and creativity are more fun than most tasks we do at work.In 5G, high data rate services indoors and at hotspots occupy the main traffic volume of mobile services. The previous macro-dominated design will not be suitable to meet this change. As a result, a new design, local-based IMT, optimized for both indoors and hotspots, will be necessary.

Local-based IMT needs to coexist and coordinate with macro-based IMT. Energy consumption shall be decreased significantly in orders of magnitudes in 5G. But it is impossible in the current framework and current base stations. For example, the goal of EC FP7 EARTH is to decrease energy consumption for base stations by 50 percent, mainly based on the current framework. However, it is possible to reduce the power down to orders in magnitude by offloading majority data to local small cells, letting inactive cells sleep, in the macro-local coexisting and coordinating framework.

Is 5G unhealthy?

5G technology that utilizes electromagnetic waves that are smaller than 4G technology is being built and installed despite not having been tested by the government or the industry for negative health effects.
At the molecular level, these frequencies affect the orbit of electrons, and that affects the ability of blood hemoglobin to bind with oxygen. If blood cannot hold oxygen, the result is death by suffocation. In short, 5G technology has the potential of being used as a weapon to quickly weaken, disable, or destroy individuals or populations.

In addition to the suffocation effect, extermination of the entire human race is theoretically possible because of the effect of electromagnetic radiation on fertility. Since 1970, the sperm count in US males has dropped by 60%, which is approaching the point where men can no longer reproduce. Paul Romano says that a major contributor to the drop in fertility is the fact that men carry radiation-producing cell phones in pants pockets close to the reproductive organs.
