Sin categoría By 19 abril, 2010 No Comments

In September the conference “Europe through Students’ Eyes” will take place in Rome. From the 22nd to the 25th of September the three public Universities of Rome, Sapienza, Tor Vergata and Roma Tre, are hosting the 6th student conference. What’s new for this edition is that the topics of the conference will be chosen by an internet poll open to all students, administrative and teaching staff of the Universities of the UNICA network. The network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe has 42 members. The final topics of the conference are:

  1. Internationalisation at universities: challenges and problems.
  2. The European mobility programmes (Erasmus, Erasmus placement, Erasmus Mundus, Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie, doctoral programmes, etc.): toward the 20% mobility by the year 2020?
  3. What is the role of the university in contemporary society?
  4. Unity and diversity in future of Europe: the challenge of multiculturalism.
  5. Innovation, formal and informal education: can universities nurture the creativity of students?
  6. The Bologna process and the development of the European higher education: quality, employability and social issues.
  7. Student mobility and the enlargement and consolidation of the European Union.
  8. High quality universities with low fees: is it possible? How to choose the best university to study at?
  9. Sustainable development and greener universities.
  10. Hard and soft skills: are the European universities helping the students to develop both?

From the 18th of June until the 11th of July the Zurich Festival 2010 will take place. The Zurich Festival will enchant visitors once again this year with its unique combination of opera, concert, dance, theater and art: whether at the festival premiere of the Opera House, which is dedicated to Richard Strauss’ «Salome», at the concerts of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich or at the exhibition by photographer Thomas Struth at the Kunsthaus Zürich (Museum of Fine Art).  The Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich’s concerts will be devoted to the theme of the symphony as a personal musical confession, and will feature symphonic works of the Romantic period (Berlioz), inspired by nature and the homeland (Dvorák), or dedicated to God, as in Bruckner’s Ninth.
